Ivo Josipović, president of the Republic of Croatia, addressed the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum on Friday, 11 February 2011, at a lecture event co-sponsored by the Harvard Institute of Politics, the Kokkalis Program on Southeastern and East-Central Europe, and the Lukšić Fellowships for Croatia. Ivo Josipović's address was entitled Regional Cooperation and EU Integration: Two Foundations of the Same Process.
“We have to build trust in the region, face the past and try to find a common history. I am quite certain that everyone in the region cannot have the same view of the past, but we have to have the same fundamental principles and the same values,” asserted President Josipović, who sees Croatia's role in the EU as a bridge between Europe and others.
